Help Out a Privateer--Hunter Clements #834

Postby SteveS » Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:03 am

Some of you have read my posts about a rookie 16 year old privateer from Missouri, Hunter Clements #834. He has been trying to make a go of the Nationals, and scored points at his first National this year and again at Redbud. He's qualified for the motos every time he's been. The family is doing this on their own dime. People have been helping out, but they had originally only budgeted for 4-5 races. They were trying to get enough money together to make all the rest of the Nationals, and several people have come up with different kinds of fundraisers to help them out. Although Hunter qualified at Millville, he cased the uphill double and broke his wrist. Nonetheless the effort continues to get him to more races, which means the last two on the schedule--out West. One of these fundraisers is the sale of t-shirts designed by Frank Denney and Teresa Immel in Iowa. Hunter's mom, Darcy posted this on the Missouri State Series forum:

I'm sure everyone has heard that Hunter broke his wrist at Millville.
We go to the orthopedic surgeon on Wednesday to find out what exactly needs to be done and the plan of action for healing. Thank goodness Fedex has great medical insurance.

With that being said, we are going to continue as planned as far as the scheduled fundraisers. Above is a link to facebook so you can view the t-shirts that are for sale. Hunter tells me the picture is too large to put on here but I'm working on that too.

The shirts will be $20.00 and all the proceeds will continue to go towards Hunter's racing ~ parts, training, race fees, travel expenses, etc.
Please email your orders including quantities and sizes to mxmom434@yahoo.com. Available sizes are child s,m,l & adult s,m,l,xl. XXL is $2.00 more and XXXL is $3.00 more.
I'm going to take orders until July 26th.
Payment instructions will be sent with the order confirmations.

Deb and Clay with EventPhoto are still selling the photos of Hunter as well. He will gladly sign those and the shirts when he sees you all at the races.

There are still a couple more fundraisers in the works and more information will be posted on those as it is available.

Hunter, Todd & I are completely overwhelmed with your generosity. Thank you just doesn't cover what it means to us that so many people believe in him and are helping to make his dream come true.
We're all a little bummed right now but know that he's fixable and will be back at it soon enough. I'm not sure how Todd and Moto are going to fare thru the healing though. Might have to rent them out as Pit Crew!

Thanks again!
Darcy

Steve first thank you for posting this. Hunter is truely very talented. In 02 hunter won every race and every moto on his way to winning the mo state championship in the 9-11 65cc class. This kid now young man is very deticated and focused.

Also, Sunday August 8th they are having a prepped practice at Kingsville with all the money raised going to hunter to fund his racing. I'm taking my pitster out there to do some laps.. I believe there will also be a bake sale and some autographs and shirts. So come support Missouri's finest!
